90's BORN (Our Toffees)

Forget Dairy milk, if you want to see the passion for toffees and chocolates, lets go back to the humble world of 90s. I can remember the taste and craze for toffees, peppery pills and sweet suparis which was the kids' tashan then.Lets start with the peppery pill which was very famous and the only reason for many dialouges like 'beta chela chela hota hai'. I guess you recognized the name, yes it was 'Guru Chela'.
It was famous among us not only for the taste but also for the packet. The single picture reflected both Guru(boss) and Chela(follower) when turned upside down. We used to tease each other by turning the packet all time saying 'beta tu chela hai mera'.
Poppins, the most popular packet among us as the quantity was more with different colours and flavours. We could share it among the circle but we rarely did,.. 'it was toffee yaar' every child was fond of it and used to tease one another with that only.
Pan Pasand, a complete pan flavour toffee with anise(saunf) in it. Remember when it was in its last bite, the anise(saunf) tasted yum.

MangoBite used to be our sweets(kids sweet) by every single guest who was planning to visit us'beta dekho hum aapke liye kya laaye hain'. It set the taste and refreshed the mood too.

Kismi Bar was the bar with the strong taste of elaichi. It was the bar bought mostly for girls by their boyfriends. It was an epic chocolate with a small version as well.Even today I see it somewhere and buy it.

Pimpom was the only lollipop or you can say PimPom meant lollipop. The best part was the way we had it๐Ÿ˜‰.

Bigbabol, Boomer was our centerfresh. Every cricket match meant every player was having it in his mouth, making bubbles at different situation or sometimes to compete 'kiska kitna phholta hai, aur phat kar naak me chipak jana'๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

There was a melted chocolate too 'choki choki' packed in a pen shaped wrapper, just cut the the wrapper and enjoyed the chocolate.

Parle toffee, the 25paise toffee, who can forget it, it was our birthday celebration toffee,we used to distribute it in the school on our birthday.

Cotton Candy the 'Hawa Mithai' for us and for rest of the world it was Cotton Candy. Even today it is available at every nook and corner of the city.
The digestive toffee of our time was SWAD. Present in every house๐Ÿ™‚.
Some more toffees for open selling but very famous among us and we could buy it in any quantity at any time and we also used to steal them from the shops๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Lets come to the mouthfreshener or sweet suparis- madhu, jojo, chutki prince etc. Bro it was a Tashan for us. It was our Rajnigandha. We used to have it in a manner that we were the 'dada' of the area and used to talk the same way while having it. We have got beaten for this when caught 'gal laal ho jate the yaar'.
I guess reading this and watching the pictures of the chocolates surely brought a smile on your face and took you to the journey of your memories related to chocolates๐Ÿ™‚.
