90's BORN(Our Games)

Games, variety of games I used to play. When I think of games, a screenplay plays in front of my eyes, I see what I played and how I played. Messy hairs, torn clothes, dirty body, empty stomach, there was nothing I cared for except the games and how madly I managed to execute the plans and escaped from my house.Cricket, football, badminton, carrom, chess, pitto, hide n seek, kit kit(girls' game),anta(goli),wyapari, ludo.Lets start how amazing it was during that period as today's children also play games.

Kit kit, traditional girls' game, but every boy used to play it along with girls. A piece of plane stone(goti) and eight boxes house(drawn on ground) were the requisites to play the game. The stone was thrown to one of the boxes and the player was supposed to reach that box on one leg, continuously whispering kit-kit-kit-kit, without touching the lines of the boxes and once the box with the stone was reached, the player had to kick the stone out of the boxes without the stone getting stuck over the lines. If one put the leg down in between, the player was out.The best part was... we played it with girls.

Anta(goli), known by different names in different places.A small area was required to play the game and anyone could take part in the game. We used to play 3 or 4 different format of the game. The only talent required in the game was to aim and if you won the entire Anta is yours.
"Bahut maar khayi hai ise khelne me".
Football was so amazing to play during rainy season.Fully watery ground, raining and more than 22 players enjoying the game.Sliding on ground here and there with no requirement and who slid the most was the best player of the day.
Ludo along with snake and ladder was the craziest indoor game.It so too funny to cut the other one's Goti and to tease him or her.We tried different tricks to get the number 6 on board. We enjoyed the game with the family members too.Cricket was everyone's favorite game and the  scenario is same today also. Those who were good in chess were the intelligent personalities and they were going to light up the name of the family in coming time, 'I don't know how'.The logic was hilarious .Carrom used to be the night game for our elders. A big board with boric acid, drum where carrom is placed, a bulb hanging in center of the board and the game was on. We used to play on small board.

Gilli danda(game of tip Cat) was amazing, a big stick(danda) and a small piece (gilli). The longer distance you made that gilli travel with the stick, winning chances increased and gilli should be flipped with the help of stick (danda) only. If you missed, you lost.
Hide and seek in under construction buildings with a group and cheating while searching the players was amazing. Kabaddi which is now played at national level, we used to play it then and fought too. We also used to play Kho-Kho which seems to have gone out of fashion today as hardly anyone is seen playing it.
There were more such interesting games we used to play in 90s which do not exist today. At  that time, nobody gave attention to the attire while you roamed, played or at any function. Life was all about enjoying the moment and nobody at that time made anyone feel low.
